My Consulting services are niche, premium, and comprise exclusively and personally facilitated ordeals of critical nature. My Consulting clients are few, exclusive and usually on a retainer-ship basis with a success fee component. That is why accepting a Consulting client warrants a great deal of commitment and loyalty. Across my 25 years of career, I have had the privilege of being:

  • Ex-CEO of a scheduled bank and a fuel farming and logistics company in a Central Asian country
  • Ex-Managing Partner of a consulting firm in GCC
  • (Co-)Founder of 07 of my own and 03 of my (ex-)employers’ consulting practices and business ventures
  • Ex-CFO of multiple entities of repute
  • Ex-CHRO of a recent employer Consulting MNC
  • Ex-(Senior-)Partner for Tax and Accounting in 02 of the top-10 Consulting firms of GCC
  • A leading Manager for 15 years with a Big Four Accounting firm for 15 years.

This diverse executive experience is battle-tested, which reaps spot-on results for my few but valuable Consulting clients.

My Consulting service offerings consist of the following roles:

Consigliere: This is a most fiduciary role of an executive confidante whereby I work directly with the CEO and/or the Board of Directors and assist in steering the enterprise towards achieving the corporate goals of net worth, profitability, windfall capture, scaling/start-up, di/investment, expansion, mindshare, marketshare, brand enhancement, people capitalization, disruption and sustainability.

Program Manager: As a Program or Project Manager I get involved preferably at the inception stage, which could be setting up of a business/geographical segment or bidding for a project etc. I assist in developing the business case credentials or proposal as the case may be, support in presentations and negotiation all the way to the point of winning, coordinate the program kick-off and orchestrate the execution to the point of achievement of the pre-agreed goals of the engagement.

Root-Cause Diagnostician: Many a business at times find themselves against insurmountable barriers to achieve their strategic goals. My role as a Root-Cause Diagnostician is highly confidential, which requires the CEO’s and/or the Board of Directors’ commitment to give me a free hand in uncovering the root causes of business impediments. Once onboarded, I delve myself into the organizational clusters of common interests and uncover the cause and effect relationships, which have resulted in the organization’s barriers to achieve the desired business goals. These findings are presented to the highest level of the organization and are not only observations in isolation but carry recommended strategies on how to overcome those business impediments.

Risk Manager: I have had a long career in Assurance and Risk services with the Big Four and served globally recognized companies. Risk management today goes far beyond substantive procedures and takes into account business environmental dynamics that have a bearing on the growth, sustenance and resilience of organizations. My risk review approach uses a combination of good old fashioned techniques of primary and secondary research, analysis of perceptual and constructive expectations and obligations, data analytics and financial analyses to uncover that which is hidden from a monotonous tick-the-box approach.

Financial Strategist: As a Financial Strategist I combine my commercial experience with cutting edge financial doctrines to support in corporate decision making regarding matters of strategic nature such as investment, divestiture, financing, networth, price-volume elasticity of demand, profit maximization, cost restructuring, solvency, liquidity and sustainability.

International Development Advisor: I have been part of the philanthropic and international development world both as a practitioner with a Big Four and as a CFO of an INGO and am well versed with INGO financial and operational frameworks such as Worldbank’s Impact Evaluation Framework, USAID’s Logical Framework Approach and Fund Accountability Statements, CIDA’s RBM Framework, and UNHCR’s Operational Handbook. I’ve supported Microfinance Institutions with Mix Market Toolkit based reporting, reorganizing and resturcuting their operations, and trained the BDSOs of a Central Asian government’s Ministry for Rural Rehabilitation and Development. I’ve coached the finance team of 11 Partner NGOs of Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors operating in a Central Asian country. I can partner with such philanthropic and international development organizations to streamline and scale up their operations in third world through Training, Advisory, Reporting and Complaince services that will reap outstanding results.
